This is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts: Winter’s Day colour challenge.
Recently we’ve had grey, overcast skies, bare trees and snow on the ground. So a couple of my intentional camera movement shots of trees in snow on the South Bruce Peninsula seemed an obvious choice for this prompt.
Intentional camera movement of trees on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario recently.
Last Sunday morning I went for a walk around the neighborhood with the intention of looking for monochrome images and interesting detail.
All the holiday homes are closed up for the year so it was very quiet apart from the occasional Blue Jay or squirrel complaining about my presence.
Just before finishing my walk I did a quick detour into the trees to try a few ICM images. I thought the movement in the image was at odds to the quiet surroundings so this is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge: Quiet.
Autumn colour on Bickerton Hill in southern Cheshire, England. The hill is the southern end of a sandstone ridge sticking out of the Cheshire plain.
On a clear day you can see central Liverpool. The group of Silver Birch trees on top of the hill are on the site of an Iron Age hill fort known as Maiden Castle.
A photo from my archives, originally it was going to be a Throwback Thursday post. Instead it is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Hillside.
One of my back to basics set-ups. A base model mirrorless camera and a small, mechanical, manual focus prime lens.
A set-up like this allows me to shoot digital the same way I used to shoot film, what I call getting back to basics. This takes me back to the film kit I used as a photography student all those years ago.
As the camera, lens and my custom sling strap are all black I thought a monochrome conversion would make a contribution to the Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge: Simply Black theme. I added some film grain when doing the monochrome conversion.
